Privacy policy
Last updated: [DATE]
SameTest is run by [BUSINESS NAME], [ADDRESS], India ("we", "us"). This policy explains what information we collect when you use our website and practice tests, why we collect it, and the choices you have. It is written to follow the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (India).
What we collect
- Account details you give us: name, email address, phone number, city, state, your target exam and subject, and (optionally) your qualification, college and how you heard about us.
- Sign-in details: a password (stored only in scrambled form) or the identifier your Google account gives us when you choose "Continue with Google".
- Your activity on the tests: attempts, answers, time spent, scores, ranks, questions you report, and packs or payments linked to your account.
- Technical information needed to run the site: your browser type, device type and internet address, and cookies that keep you logged in.
Why we collect it
- To create and run your account, show your name and roll number on the exam screen, and save your results so you can see them again on any device.
- To calculate scores, ranks and percentiles among students who took the same test.
- To send you emails you need: confirming your email address, resetting your password, receipts, and reminders when a pack is about to expire.
- To answer your questions and reports about test content.
- To keep the site safe (for example, limiting repeated login attempts) and to understand how the site is used so we can improve it.
We do not sell your information. We do not show advertising.
Who can see your information
- Our team, only as needed to run the service and help you.
- Service providers that store or send data for us: our web server, our file storage, our email-sending service and (when payments are switched on) our payment gateway. They may only use the data to provide the service to us.
- Other students see only ranks and percentiles as numbers, never your name or details.
- Authorities, when the law requires it.
Where your data is kept
Your data is stored on servers we control. During our test phase the server is in [SERVER LOCATION]; before public launch we will move it to [SERVER LOCATION AT LAUNCH]. Question images are stored with Cloudflare.
How long we keep it
- Account and test data: as long as your account exists.
- If you delete your account, your details, attempts, results and reports are erased at once. Payment records that the tax law requires us to keep are kept for the required period in a form that does not identify you personally.
- Backups are kept for 30 days and then overwritten.
Your rights
- See and correct your details: My account page.
- Delete your account and data: My account page, "Delete my account". This cannot be undone.
- Withdraw consent: delete your account, or write to us.
- Ask a question or make a complaint: email [EMAIL] or write to [ADDRESS]. Our grievance officer is [GRIEVANCE OFFICER NAME]. We reply within [NUMBER] days.
Children
Our tests are meant for adults preparing for competitive exams. If you are under 18, please use the site only with the consent of a parent or guardian, which you confirm when you create an account.
Cookies
We use a small number of cookies only to keep you logged in, to remember your access code during the private test phase, and to keep your exam session working. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.
